Johnny Hampton

Pastor to Students and their Parents

Johnny grew up in a small town in the middle of Wyoming where the deer and the buffalo roamed…seriously. He moved to Nampa about 10 years ago to go to college and hasn’t left. There’s just something about the smell that keeps him around. Johnny is married to Joye – his beautiful wife who happens to love students as much as he does! They have enjoyed 8 amazing years together. They have a one year old son named Caleb who keeps them busy and blesses their lives every day. Johnny enjoys watching a good movie, spending time with family and hanging out with friends. He is madly in love with Jesus Christ and feels like he is the luckiest person in the world to work with students! Have a question or just want to talk about something? Email me.

Robert Poe

Youth Ministry Resident

Robert Poe graduated last May from Northwest Nazarene University. He grew up in Nampa attending College Church and is really excited to be able to now serve with the youth ministry. He is excited to be working with students and that he has the opportunity and privilege to be involved in their lives. As a random side note, Robert also enjoys having the ability to eat cereal out of the dip in his chest. He knows, you’re jealous. Email Robert

Jenna Redmond

Jr. High Intern

Jenna is a senior at NNU. She grew up in a small Dutch town in Washington - a town full of windmills, klompen dancing and immaculate lawns. Jenna was called to missions as a little girl, and is excited to serve the youth at College Church as part of this journey. Jenna enjoys thrift store shopping, knitting, canoeing and other lovely activities. She looks forward to getting to know the youth of College Church, and feels incredibly blessed to be a member of such a beautiful community. Email Jenna

Zachary Schulz

Youth Intern

Zachary Schulz is a junior at Northwest Nazarene University. Zach's area of study is Christian Ministries with a minor in Youth Ministries. Zach has lived in Lake Tapps, Washington his whole life and attended Auburn Church of the Nazarene. Zach feels really blessed that God has placed this call upon his life to help impact students' lives. Zach enjoys rock climbing, hiking, any sports, and just kicking it with the hommies. He is currently studying abroad at Eastern Nazarene College and will return to Nampa in December to continue his internship. Email Zach

Scott Carver

Scott is stoked to be involved in ministry at College Church! He is married to his beautiful wife Christa. During his free time he enjoys backpacking, snowboarding, playing guitar, and the occasional tennis match. He is excited for what God is going to do through him! Email Scott

Ben Cremer

Rocks the guitar on Sunday Mornings and loves a good discussion!

Ben is a graduate from NNU with a BA in Christian Ministries. He is also getting his Master's degree in Spiritual Formation through the online program at NNU. He loves the youth in the Upper Room as well as his co-workers and magnificent leader Johnny Hampton. Ben enjoys fly-fishing, paint-balling, video games, and music. He honestly never feels closer to Christ than when he is in conversation with people, looking over God's beautiful creation, worshiping with his favorite music, and/or delving into the Holy Scriptures. He loves the Lord with all his heart and hopes that he can truly be the invisible servant for his God; that when he is looked upon, he himself is not seen but Christ is seen through him and his actions. He has had so much fun getting to know the Upper Room as his place of ministry and is really looking forward to what God has in store for him. Email Ben

Mike Kipp

Mike is our fearless Home Discussion Leader for Sr. High Plugged In

Mike is in his fifth year teaching at Northwest Nazarene University as the assistant professor of youth and family ministry. Prior to coming to NNU, Mike spent 11 years as a youth pastor in California, Kansas, and Idaho. Mike is currently finishing his doctoral dissertation in Youth, Family and Culture through Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. He earned his Master’s of Religious Education from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1998. Mike has been married to Sandy for 11 years and they enjoy playing and traveling with Spencer (7) and McKenna (4). When he is not reading, writing, correcting, advising, teaching, or preparing. . . Mike loves to share his passion for young people with anyone who will listen!

Eunice Smith

Eunice has been an amazing, committed volunteer for many years!

I grew up in rural Idaho and still enjoy being far away from cities! I love reading good stuff, gardening, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, and hiking. Camping trips always sound great! Babies and sunrises are the two best things God makes! I love taking care of little ones under two years old--weird, huh. And my idea of fun is cooking lots of food to feed hungry people, especially teens. Any life is empty without Jesus at the center. Life is hard, but God is good--don't get that mixed up. Rachel Allen

Rachel loves through coffee in Another Cup and the Upper Room Cafe.

Rachel grew up in Lunenburg, Massachusetts - a town known for...well...nothing really. She moved here in 2004. She is a student at NNU majoring in Public Communication and minoring in Psychology. She plans to continue school after graduation and become an adolescent counselor. For fun she loves dancing, acting, singing, rock climbing, horseback riding, and of course long walks on the beach. She has a passion for youth and loves working with URSM. Email Rachel

Debra Robertson

URSM Secretary

Well Debra is Debra! A city girl who grew up in the San Fernando Valley, California – ok a “Valley Girl”. After college Debra moved to Idaho to join her parents who had retired in this area. This proved to be a good move in that she met Fred Robertson (her hubby) – that story is still being written. Debra likes to go to plays or movies, curl up with a good book, rubber stamping or other art things, getting together with friends and playing games. Her time with family keeps her happy and centered. Trips to the mountains or walking through streams are great times for her to spend focused on God. Debra is the Secretary to URSM she likes creating things for and seeing the vision of this ministry. Her desire is a caring relationship with students. Email Debra

Swede Siverson

You'll see Swede in the Upper Room on Sunday mornings...we dare you to challenge him in ping pong!

Swede has moved all over the northwest and has finally been in Nampa long enough to have his first home. He is married to Tammy and has two great kids, Josh and Becca. He started working with the youth group when Josh entered Jr. High. Having been a youth pastor earlier in life, he loves working with teens. He is a full time professional counselor and a part time personal trainer. After Jesus, family and friends, his passion is mountain biking. Ready to go for a ride???

Fred Robertson

He hangs out with Sr. Highers on Sunday morning and drinks a mean mocha!

Fred is a native Idahoan and was raised in Glenns Ferry. Much to my mother’s surprise I was not born alone, my twin sister followed my entrance by three minutes. I enjoyed being raised in a small town where I knew most people. I moved to Boise and that is where I met my wife Debra and we are blessed to have two incredible children. Did I mention that Debra is a handful all by herself – seriously she has been my joy? I have had and keep adding to the things that I enjoy doing. These include backpacking, sport shooting, making knifes and pens. I also like to read books on military history and airplanes. Youth ministry is a big part of my life – I love being involved with you guys you are our future. Email Fred

Joye Hampton

She loves students and keeps the crazy youth pastor in line!

I grew up the Treasure Valley and have lived here my whole life. After graduating from high school I went on to pursue higher education at NNC...(yes, it was NNC, and yes, I am old) where I met Johnny. I said I would never be in ministry. I was wrong, and boy am I glad I was wrong! What an amazing adventure it has been. I enjoy spending time with my husband and amazingly handsome and smart son, Caleb. I am the licensing administrator at a small insurance company in the Treasure Valley. I live in what I affectionately refer to as my "cube" 30 hours a week. When I am not staring at a computer at work, I can probably be found "couponing" - aka "finding free stuff." I also have an addiction to Reality TV and texting, and probably send too many texts a month. I spent every summer of my life in Alaska working on my family's commercial fishing site. That is how I got so buff. I absolutely love mint M&M's and think it's entirely ridiculous that they are only sold during the holidays. Email Joye

Nichole Hensleman

I grew up in Medford, OR with my mom, dad, and two brothers and was raised in the Nazarene denomination. For a long time I knew that God was calling me to ministry and I would push Him away because I was scared and did not feel I was deserving of ministry. Just about two years ago I accepted the calling and came to NNU to pursue what God has in store for me. I graduated from Ashland High School in Ashland, Oregon and now attend Northwest Nazarene University. I am an avid movie watcher and music listener. Email Nichole
