the edult purpose

edult ministry @ CCN encourages a growing relationship with Jesus Christ through exploring, expanding, experiencing, and extending our love for God and others.

We will do this through four biblical elements:

exploring– discipleship (Hebrews 6:1)

expanding– reaching out (Acts 1:8)

experiencing– fellowship (Acts 2:42-47)

extending– worship & service (Psalm 95:6 & Ephesians 4:7-8, 11-13)

what is edult ministry?

So you’ve been a part of the church your whole life, or you’ve just begun diving into what the church is all about.  You’ve come to our youth ministry activities, gone on retreats, mission trips, and other cool activities.  You’ve had a bunch of really cool, but crazy adults in your life who’ve loved you, cared for you, walked through life with you.  Then, you’ve graduated from high school and the infamous question is asked…“Now what?”

Well, that’s where the edult ministry comes along in your life.  At College Church, our goal is to help you continue to be a vital part of the church as you make your transition through a crazy, fun, confusing, yet exciting time of life.  ”edult” stands for “Emerging Adult.”  If you are 18 to 20-something, you are an emerging adult.  So within our ministry at College Church, you are affectionately an edult.

At College Church, nearly 10 percent of our congregation falls into this age group. In this age group, people are working steady jobs, have a career, single or are starting a family, going to a local college or university, going out of town or state for college, coming to town for college, or have graduated from college, are now residing in Nampa, and a host of other life situations. 

Ultimately, the goal of edult ministry at CCN is to lead 18 to 20 something year olds into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and his Church. Our desire is to see this fulfilled through knowing and sharing God’s love.
